Timeline for Submitting an Idea
Proposals for potential LRRB research projects are solicited from research institutions in September and October of each year. In December, the LRRB evaluates and selects proposals that will be funded. If your idea for research is funded, you may be asked to serve on the project technical advisory panel. Because funds may be available at other times of the year, problem statements are accepted at any time.
Process
- Focus group meetings with practitioners from throughout the state to identify research needs
- Problem statements available on LRRB website for any city or county engineer to submit
- Review of problem statements by LRRB Board
- Selection of problem statements for solicited proposals
- LRRB Board review of proposals
- Selection of funded proposals
- Development of work plan and contract execution
- Formation of Technical Advisory Panel (TAP) and contract execution
- Completion of Research
- Final Report
- Implementation plan development by TAP
