Submit an Idea

The LRRB welcomes research ideas from Minnesota county, city and township officials. After submittal, your problem statement will be researched and evaluated to determine if current solutions exist to the problem. We will follow up with you and let you know what was found. If the problem statement requires new research, your idea will be brought before the LRRB to determine if proposals for research should be sought.

Proposals for potential LRRB research projects are solicited from research institutions in September and October of each year. In December, the LRRB evaluates and selects proposals that will be funded. If your idea for research is funded, you may be asked to serve on the project technical advisory panel. Because funds may be available at other times of the year, problem statements are accepted at any time.

You can submit your idea using the on-line form. If you prefer to use a traditional format, you can download the paper form. The paper form may be filled out in a word processing application and emailed as an attachment to Alan Rindels, or faxed to (651) 366-3779. You may also mail the form to: LRRB at the Mn/DOT Research Services Section, Mail Stop 330, 395 John Ireland Boulevard, St. Paul, Minnesota 55155. For questions, please contact the LRRB at the Mn/DOT Research Services Section at (651) 366-3780
