Abstract:
Striking a balance between the needs of commerce to carry heavy loads on roads and the need to preserve the significant investment in our transportation infrastructure is a challenging process. There are compelling needs from both sides of the picture that must be acknowledged. The LRRB's Research Implementation Committee completed a 19-minute educational and training DVD, Loads and Roads: Finding a Balance along with this brochure. It covers subjects such as, pavement design basics, how loads impact roads, spring load limits, and finding a balance.
